WordPress 3.4.2 Debuts with Some New Cool Features

By on Sep 11, 2012 in Wordpress | 0 comments

I was going to let the news of WordPress 3.4.2 go but there was one feature that I felt had to be mentioned that I thought was particularly cool.  Well, there’s actually about four features with this latest update.

You can decide if the others are just as cool.  Here are latest features to consider for WordPress 3.4.2.

Live Theme Previews

I believe this feature was in the previous update but it still deserves mention.  This is very cool if you are trying out new themes.  You can actually see how it will look before you upload it.  What’s really cool now is that you can change the design around to see the background color, Header and Title & Tagline.

Very faster method of getting the best free WordPress theme available in a much quicker way. Before it took a lot of your time to go through this process and trust me…you don’t want to go back to that.

Custom Headers

You can now change the size of the header for the theme choose.  This is actually a great custom feature for your potential theme.  It can be a useful tool if you just can’t work with the original size given which is usually the case.

Twitter Embeds

I’m not sure how useful this feature will be but it’s a something different you can use to utilize the power of Twitter.  I guess it’s a way to embed your tweets in a post very easily.  But I must admit, I haven’t figured out how to use this embed feature as of yet.

When I do,  it must be pretty cool to at least put a quick post if necessary.

Better Captions

Now comes that feature that I think will be particularly useful to all bloggers.  This latest update lets you put a link under your photos which is perfect for putting in the source of a picture…Just in case you are using a picture from another blog or website.  And it’s just a neat little feature that doesn’t require much thought.

You just place the link in the caption field and you’re done.  This is the feature I think is the coolest!  Maybe I’m glorifying it too much. I don’t know but it’s easier than having to upload a plugin for this application and that’s why it’s significant…at least to me!

There’s a few other techie updates that are over my head and probably yours.  But you can check it out yourself from your WordPress blog.  Hopefully, you can make some of these features work for you in your internet business today. So update to 3.4.2 already!  Uh…back up your site first then update!
